First off
thank you for checking out my website!
How I
got started....
I
first got involved with the breed through a local
breeder. I would often work for her helping take care of
litter boxes, grooming cats, helping with births, bottle
feeding kittens, etc. I adopted my first sphynx from her
and fell in love with the breed. Years later I am now
carrying on the line and she has retired from breeding.
The cattery that she ran was Flyingcats and when I took
over I changed the name to Peachkins. If you look back
into the pedigrees of many sphynx you will find the
Flyingcat name. This line of cats was around well before
the breed was even registered in TICA. I am very honored
to carry on this line and have a deep respect for all of
the work that was put in by the pioneers of the breed.
So I'm
an all around animal lover....
I am
currently a graduate student at the University of Idaho
in the neuroscience program. The focus of my
dissertation is on behavior, specifically looking at the
reproductive and aggression circuitry.
I also
run my own training, behavior and pet sitting company,
The Good Pup. I
currently have 3 employees that aid in pet sitting and
training classes. I specialize in behavior problems,
both dog and cat. I also run obedience classes through a
local veterinary clinic.
I love
being around animals and I love helping animals and hope
to make them my life's work!
In
addition to my cats I share my house with Buddy and
Bokeem. Buddy is a Golden
Retriever that came from the local pound and is now a
therapy dog. He works with me to help socialize other
dogs. Bokeem "the big guy" is a Tibetan Mastiff rescue
that I took in a few years ago. He is the silent aloof
type who has way too much going on upstairs for a dog.
Bokeem is also the protector of the kitties and when no
one is looking he likes to get in a little snuggling.
